  • Angela is an equity consultant whose background spans education, housing advocacy, philanthropy, and the entertainment industry. Recently serving as a senior program manager at Jobs for the Future (JFF), Angela facilitated learning sessions with the California Community Colleges’ Office of the Chancellor to increase financial aid uptake for students. Beyond her day-to-day work, Angela also supports LatinX in Animation, an animation-focused diversity advocacy program under the Latino Film Institute.

Prior to JFF, Angela was a Program Officer for the College Success team at ECMC Foundation, a national funder focused on postsecondary education. In her role, Angela oversaw grants that increase college persistence, two-year transfer, and bachelor degree completion for students who were the first in the families to pursue higher education, came from low-income backgrounds, and/or were students of color. Prior to ECMC Foundation, Angela was at UCLA’s Alumni Diversity Programs, supporting alumni identity affinity groups (UCLA Black Alumni, Latino Alumni, LGBTQ+).

Outside of her professional work, Angela serves on the board of directors and DEI Committee for the Los Angeles-based nonprofit School on Wheels, Inc., which provides academic support to K-12 students experiencing homelessness. To elevate the narrative of children and families experiencing homelessness, Angela has guest lectured at USC’s Price School of Public Policy and also written a children’s picture book series, Scruffy and the Egg, based on her own personal experiences.
