In the era of video conferencing, board meetings, board retreats, staff meetings, staff retreats took on new meanings or just did not happen at all. Now that the world is getting back to meetings in person, people have the desire to meet again, but what will the future bring? Sometimes it is easier and more effective to have a professional facilitator to help a meeting run smoothly.

James Alva, President, serves as a national facilitator for Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business New Strategies program. This program brings together nonprofit organizations from across the U.S. to listen to some of the world’s most renowned fundraisers. James facilitates the discussions that help these nonprofits to take the lessons learned and turn them into action.

The team has facilitated meetings of various types for boards and staff, which has included helping to shape the agenda, securing a venue/location for the meeting, preparing panels for discussions, planning team building activities, facilitation strategic framework and DEI discussions, and overall helping organizations to have sometimes challenging conversations but in a meaingful and respectful way.
