AVANZAR Board Training Program

  • Are you a Latina/Latino/Latinx community member interested in making a difference in Orange County? Have you considered supporting a local nonprofit organization with your talents? The AVANZAR Board Training Program may be for you!

  • AVANZAR is a 3-month training program designed to provide foundational skills to Latina/Latino/Latinx community members interested in nonprofit board service. The program introduces participants to the nonprofit ecosystem in Orange County and equips them with the skills to become an effective board member who advances Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in nonprofit boards. The program has been created for Orange County community members who are interested in learning about nonprofit board service and are thinking about joining a nonprofit board.

What will you gain?

Through the generous support of the Orange County Community Foundation, you have the opportunity to join the AVANZAR Board Training Program during which you will:

  • learn the foundational skills needed to succeed as a nonprofit board member

  • learn how to advance Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in nonprofit boards

  • have access to a network of committed colleagues and opportunities for growth

Who should apply?

Ideal applicants should:

  • live or be a working professional in Orange County

  • be open to exploring a potential board match with a nonprofit in Orange County

  • be interested in joining a nonprofit board within the next 1-2 years

Deadline to apply is Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 11:59 pm. Applicants will be notified of their application status by early February 2023.
