  • Francisco comes with a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience from both private and public sectors. For five years he worked for a worldwide logistics company where he helped increase revenue for existing clients by facilitating operational demand and expanding business opportunities. He later transitioned into the international sector serving two years as an Education Volunteer with the US Peace Corps in rural South Africa. Throughout those two years he pioneered innovative strategies to increase student engagement and learning outcomes by implementing programs such as Reading Club, computer literacy, remedial courses, and a full-length musical production of The Lion King. He continued working in global development taking on roles as an education policy consultant for the Ministry of Basic and Senior Secondary Education in Sierra Leone and for a nonprofit advocacy organization in Guatemala.

Most recently, Francisco was the Latino Community Foundation’s first Aida Alvarez Civic Leadership Fellow. In this role, he assisted in a $1.4 million grant program for 35 Latino-led organizations focused on ensuring the equitable distribution of the American Rescue Plan. In result, he was able to help their nonprofit partners leverage over $300M in federal resources and established a statewide coalition of civically engaged community leaders. During his fellowship, he also had the honor of presenting at the Hemispheric Dialogue for the IX Summit of the Americas the Digital Transformation Political Recommendations representing the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Francisco received his masters from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a concentration in International Education Policy and was a co-author for a chapter in a book published by UNESCO. He is proud of his Mexican roots and attributes his success to his mother, a hard working immigrant woman who made significant sacrifices and taught him the value of compassion, humility, and kindness. Although he enjoys cooking, he admits that it will never compare to his mom's dishes.
